International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, which also advocates for accelerating gender parity. To recognize this important day, we’ll be celebrating some of our own inspiring female leaders and their careers in the tech industry and at Netchex.
Danielle Brickhouse | Implementation Manager
As Implementation Manager, Danielle Brickhouse oversees a team of Project Leads as they convert new clients to the Netchex system, providing guidance and excellent customer service throughout the process. Danielle’s impact at Netchex has gone farther than just her work performance. Shronda Armstrong, an Implementation Project Lead, says, “Danielle is an awesome leader that truly cares.”
Tell us a little bit about your Netchex journey!
I started my journey with Netchex straight out of college in 2014. I can remember being on cloud nine that I landed a job with a local company that was continuously growing and making a name for themselves. I was hired into the Implementation Department as a Project Support and with some time, a big dose of mentorship, training, and encouragement from my managers I advanced into the role of a Project Lead. With this new position came new hurdles and learning curves that continuously refined me. This development wasn’t only happening Monday through Friday from 8-5 but impacted and carried over into every aspect of my life. Netchex was (and still is) continuously investing in me, rooting for me, and believing in me before I even recognized my own potential. This helped launch me into Implementing our highest revenue client base and hitting new records for myself and the company. At the beginning of 2018, we had just conquered another year of new achievements and were embarking on even more growth as a company. With this came a new role for me as Implementation Manager. As I look back, I still feel like that bright eyed, fresh faced woman from 2014 encountering her first “big girl job.” I am still just as excited and am determined to be a part of something so much bigger than myself. This go round, I just have a hell of a lot more confidence, knowledge, and experience in me that I can confidently thank Netchex for.
What is your favorite part about working in the Tech/Software industry?
My favorite part about working at Netchex is that we are constantly pushing forward to be better. Better for our prospects, better for our current clients, better for our employees, and better for our community. Being a technology/software company, you must stay ahead of the curve. You always want to be 5 steps ahead of the competition and we own that every single day at Netchex. Each department strives for excellence and that is what sets us apart.
My advice for women entering leadership roles within their own departments would be to always trust your gut and lean on your tribe. Needing help or advice is not a sign of weakness but a sign of true leadership. Understand that each day you should strive to be a better version of yourself than you were the day before and with that comes failure. You are allowed to and will fall but you are not allowed to stop the race. Keep pushing forward and do not stop progressing.
What are your hopes for Netchex as a tech company moving forward?
My hopes for Netchex moving forward is that we soar to new heights, exceed our goals, continue to break records, and move mountains. While we grow as a company I expect to see just as much effort and purpose put into growing our employees. My hope would be that each and every one of my peers could also reflect on their journey with Netchex and know that their first day filled with excitement and nerves was the day that changed everything.
