Session 1 of 4
Overview & Navigation

NetLearn is the Netchex learning management system, powered by our partner BizLibrary. It gives you a single place to assign, track, and even build your own employee training. This first session covers what NetLearn offers and how to get around once you're in.
Launching NetLearn
To launch NetLearn, select Learn from your admin dashboard. This opens a new browser tab and drops you into your personal learning dashboard. NetLearn gives you access to almost 2,000 prebuilt courses across subjects like HR compliance (anti-harassment, ADA, HIPAA, FMLA), professional skills (communication, time management, and similar workplace skills), and workplace safety (OSHA, first aid, and other safety topics). On top of that, you can upload your own custom content — like a recorded video walking through an internal process — and build quizzes around it.
Your dashboard at a glance
The dashboard gives you a snapshot of your whole organization: assignment status across your team, how many active learners you have, total launches, and time spent learning — each with a trend compared to the previous quarter. At the top of the page you'll find options to create your own custom content or assign content to employees. Further down you'll see your top topics, a review feed, and a leaderboard of top learners and teams. Reporting is covered in a later session, but this is your at-a-glance home base.
The side navigation — five areas
Everything in NetLearn is organized through the side navigation bar, which breaks down into five areas:
- Home — brings you back to the dashboard.
- People — your teams, learners, and approval agents. Teams gives a summary of total learners and total assignments; Learners lists all employees; Assignments shows all current outstanding trainings; and Status shows all learning activity for your employees.
- Learning — where you manage libraries, content groups, the curriculum builder, learning initiatives, qualifications, facilities, games, and quizzes.
- Reports — visibility into activity, assignments, transcripts, classrooms, and learning insights.
- System — manage branded sites, messages, news, and help resources.
Quick recap
- NetLearn is Netchex's LMS, powered by BizLibrary — assign, track, and build training.
- Launch it with Learn from the admin dashboard; the dashboard shows assignment status, active learners, launches, and time spent (with quarter-over-quarter trends).
- The side nav has five areas: Home, People, Learning, Reports, and System.
Session 2 of 4
Courses & Curriculum
Prefer to read? Open the written lesson
This session is hands-on: creating your own courses, assigning content to your team, and building curriculums that guide learners through training step by step.
Creating a course
To create a course, go to Learning → Libraries and click into your company's custom library. The first time in, it'll be empty — that's normal, since nothing has been added yet. To add a course, click Actions → Add Content in the top-right corner. You have a few content types to choose from:
- Video Lesson — the most common. Record your own video, upload it, and add a title and description.
- Upload Document — attach a PDF or Word file as support material.
- Link — point to an outside website or shareable document. Keep in mind links don't currently work on the Netchex mobile app.
- Classroom — for in-person or virtual live sessions; set a title, duration, and date.
- Quiz or Survey — check retention or gather feedback, with options like pass percentage and attempt limits.
You may also see SCORM and AICC eLearning options — those are technical formats for pre-built training files, and video lessons you upload get classified as AICC automatically behind the scenes. For most day-to-day content, Video Lesson is what you'll use. Once the course is created, upload your video file, add any course attributes, and attach support materials such as a digital file for the learner. At the top of the page you can create a quiz to provide once they've watched the course, confirming the employee watched and understood the training.
Assigning content
Once your course exists, get it in front of the right people. Click the Assignments tab on your content to assign it to individual learners or an entire team. You can also assign from your administration dashboard: select Assign Content, choose individual learners or a team, select your desired content and a due date, then Assign.
Content groups vs. curriculums
To bundle several courses together — say a handful of videos for annual sexual-harassment training — package them into a content group. Content groups are great for point-in-time assignments, though they don't auto-assign to new hires the way other tools do. For more structured, multi-step training, use the curriculum builder. Think of it like a card catalog: filter all available content by topic, skill level, duration, language, and more, then preview before deciding. Before you start, make sure you've selected the right team at the top of the screen using Change Team so you don't build a curriculum for the wrong group. Once you've picked content and clicked View Curriculum Draft, you can turn it into a learning initiative, an assignment, or a featured playlist.
Learning initiatives
Learning initiatives are how you build true step-by-step training paths — think onboarding or annual compliance. You organize content into stages (like chapters) and activities within each stage (like individual lessons). You can set an initiative to recur annually or set up automatic assignment rules so it applies to learners based on department, title, or location — perfect for automatically training new hires without lifting a finger. To create one, go to Learning Initiatives → Actions → Add Learning Initiative. Name it (e.g., New Hire Training), then create stages to curate the content — a training playlist that lists courses in stages, such as compliance, safety, or workplace-policies training. The last step is assignment rules: click Add Rule, select the team and the due-date interval (how long after assignment the training is due), then choose who gets it — any employee added to the company, or broken down by division, department, or position — and Save. Once added, any new employee added to Netchex is automatically assigned all courses in the initiative.
Quick recap
- Create courses under Learning → Libraries → your custom library → Actions → Add Content; Video Lesson is the everyday type.
- Assign from the content's Assignments tab or the admin dashboard; bundle with content groups for point-in-time training.
- Use the curriculum builder and learning initiatives (stages + activities + assignment rules) for step-by-step paths that auto-assign new hires.

Reporting
Prefer to read? Open the written lesson
This session covers reporting — how to track assignment status and pull reports on outstanding or completed training. To get to reporting, click the pie-chart icon on the left-hand side of the screen in NetLearn. You'll see several report areas; we focus on the two you'll use most: Assignments and Transcripts.
The Assignments report
The Assignments report is your go-to for seeing what training is still outstanding. Under Summary, you get a count of classes that are not started, in progress, completed, due soon, or overdue, along with the total number of learners assigned to each class. For more detail, switch to the Detail view — it breaks things down learner by learner, showing each person's status, their due date, and their completion date if they've finished. This is the view you want if someone asks who still hasn't completed their compliance training. For a quick check on one person, pull up that individual's learner profile and click the Status tab to see their class-by-class progress directly.
The Transcripts report
For completed training, use Transcripts. The Summary view shows each learner and how many courses they've completed within a date range you choose. The Detail view goes further, listing the specific content title, the learner, their quiz score, time spent in the class, and completion date. From here you can click directly into a certificate to download the transcript as a PDF — handy proof of completion for compliance purposes.
Other report areas & tips
A few other report areas are available too: Activity shows logins and course launches; Classroom covers your live training sessions; Learning Initiatives tracks progress through multi-stage paths; and Qualifications shows who's currently qualified or not, including expiration dates. Every one supports both a summary view for the big picture and a detail view for individual learners. One last tip: any report in NetLearn can be saved as a favorite so you don't rebuild filters every time — and once saved, you can schedule it to run automatically using the calendar icon on the saved-report page, a great way to get a recurring outstanding-training report sent straight to your inbox.
Quick recap
- Open reporting with the pie-chart icon; the two you'll use most are Assignments and Transcripts.
- Assignments shows what's outstanding (Summary counts, Detail by learner); Transcripts shows completions with scores and downloadable PDF certificates.
- Save any report as a favorite and schedule it with the calendar icon for recurring emailed reports.
Session 4 of 4
Employee Experience
Prefer to read? Open the written lesson
This final session switches perspectives to show what your employees actually see and do once they log into NetLearn — knowing this makes it easier to explain to your team and to troubleshoot when someone can't find something.
The employee dashboard
When an employee logs in, they'll see NetLearn available from their Netchex dashboard. They land on their own personal dashboard, separate from the administrator view used throughout this series. Here they'll see featured playlists you've built for their team, recommended content based on their role, new releases, and any content assigned to them under My Assignments. When an employee clicks into a class and presses play, they watch the training course and then complete any quiz attached to the learning.
Browsing & self-directed learning
Employees aren't limited to what's been assigned. They can search the full library and browse topics like business skills, HR compliance, workplace safety, or sales and service on their own initiative.
My Learning
Employees track their own training under My Learning in the menu at the top-left of the screen. This gives them tabs for Assignments (what's complete, in progress, overdue, or due soon), Recent Activity (over the last 30, 60, or 90 days), Learning Initiatives (any multi-step paths you've assigned), Qualifications (anything with an expiration date), Games (if you're running any), and Transcripts (a full record of what they've completed, along with their scores).
Quick recap
- Employees get a personal dashboard with featured playlists, role-based recommendations, new releases, and My Assignments.
- They can go beyond assigned training by searching the full library and browsing topics.
- My Learning tracks their assignments, recent activity, initiatives, qualifications, games, and transcripts.
