Netchex vs. Delta Administrative Services: Which HR and Payroll Platform Is Right for Your Business in 2026?

Picture a Metairie business owner with two proposals on the desk, both from Louisiana companies. One would make a PEO the official employer of her whole staff. The other hands her team the software to run payroll and HR themselves. That’s the real choice in Netchex vs. Delta Administrative Services, and it’s bigger than it looks.

Delta Administrative Services is a family-owned PEO based in Metairie, with roots in a placement firm Victor Lawrence opened in 1968. It sells a full co-employment PEO and a lighter ASO option. Netchex, founded in Louisiana in 2003, is payroll and HR software. You stay the only employer your people have.

Last updated: September 2026. Netchex data sourced from G2. Delta details come from Delta’s own site and the IRS Certified PEO listing, checked September 2026.

The Short Version

Delta takes HR, payroll, benefits, and safety work off your plate by becoming your co-employer. Its own FAQ puts it bluntly: under the PEO, Delta is the official employer and taxes are filed under its name. You get a local team with deep Gulf Coast experience. You also give up direct control of the employer relationship, and you pay a fee that climbs as you grow.

Netchex keeps all of that in your hands. Your employees report under your own EIN. Your benefits are your plans, picked with your broker. And when you need help, a US-based, FPC-certified team answers 90% of calls in under a minute, backed by a 4.8/5 customer satisfaction score and an 8.9/10 G2 Quality of Support rating.

Netchex vs. Delta Administrative Services: Who Is the Employer?

Delta’s FAQ is refreshingly direct about how its PEO works. Co-employment means the PEO and your company share employer responsibilities, and the PEO files taxes under its own name. Your people keep showing up to your job sites. On paper, though, they now have two employers.

That shows up in places your employees notice. Their health coverage comes through Delta’s program. Their W-2 wages run through Delta’s tax filings. And if you ever decide to leave, you’ll need to rebuild benefits, reopen tax accounts in your own name, and bring years of payroll history back in-house.

There’s one more detail worth checking. Delta isn’t on the IRS’s public list of Certified Professional Employer Organizations. Certified PEOs take on specific federal employment tax liability for wages they pay. Plenty of PEOs aren’t certified, but it’s a fair question to ask before you sign.

To its credit, Delta also sells an ASO arrangement that skips co-employment. You pick services and Delta’s team handles them. Netchex takes the idea further. There’s no co-employer at all, your wages report under your own EIN, and your team holds the controls instead of a vendor’s service desk.

Who Runs Your Payroll Day to Day

Delta describes its model as a team that handles your HR tasks while you keep control of business decisions. That’s a fair split for some owners. For the payroll or HR admin, it means processing, filing, enrollment, and compliance happen inside Delta’s service model and on Delta’s systems.

So what happens when you need a new earnings code for a second location, a different approval path for a supervisor, or a labor report cut the way your controller wants it? In a PEO, you put in the request and wait. Delta’s portal lets you view pay stubs and run reports, but by its own description, its team maps your chart of accounts to its setup. The configuration lives on their side.

Netchex flips that around. Payroll, time and attendance, benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, and performance live in one system your team configures. Most teams run payroll in about 15 minutes with OneScreen Payroll. You make the change once, and it carries through everywhere it should.

I love the integrated platform. With our old payroll company you would have to make the same change in several different areas of the software. With Netchex, it only takes once. This system is so user-friendly, it makes training a breeze. And the customer service is second to none!

How the Cost Grows With You

Delta doesn’t post what it charges. You fill out a consultation form and get a quote. That’s normal for PEOs, and so is the way the fee is usually built: per employee or as a percentage of payroll.

Either way, the math only moves one direction as you grow. Hire a crew for a new contract and the fee rises. Give raises across the board and a percentage-of-payroll fee rises with them. And that administrative fee lands on top of what you already pay in wages, employer taxes, benefit premiums, and workers’ comp.

Clients of larger PEOs say the same thing out loud. Capterra reviewers of TriNet point to rising per-employee costs at scale, and G2 reviewers of VensureHR describe unexpected fees after signup. Before you sign any PEO agreement, ask what your invoice looks like at twice your current headcount.

Netchex isn’t taking a cut of your employer relationship. You’re paying for software and service, and your benefits stay yours, so there’s no co-employment fee stacked on your premiums.

Service and Support

Delta leans on its local, hands-on team and its Southern hospitality, and its site carries warm client testimonials. What’s harder to find is an independent scorecard. Delta doesn’t have a G2 or Capterra listing to check its service against, so you’ll want to call references.

Netchex’s numbers are public. Every customer gets a dedicated Account Manager. The US-based, FPC-certified support team answers 90% of calls in under a minute, with first-call resolution. Customers rate the service 4.8/5, and G2 reviewers score it 8.9/10 for Quality of Support.

Where Delta Earns Its Keep

Credit where it’s due. Delta has served Louisiana employers for decades, and it’s clearly built around high-hazard work. Its payroll team handles certified payroll for federally funded projects. In April 2026 it partnered with Plenum Solutions to fold safety training, incident reporting, contractor credentialing, and onsite safety services into the Delta relationship.

If you run an industrial contractor or a pipeline crew and want one outside firm to own HR, safety, and workers’ comp together, that’s a real offer. Just go in knowing what comes with it: a co-employer, a fee tied to your headcount, and a longer road out if your needs change.

Switching Considerations

Moving off a PEO means re-establishing your company as the employer of record. Payroll goes back under your EIN, benefits get set up in your company’s name, and your payroll history needs a clean home.

Netchex handles it as a managed project. Implementation is free, project-managed, includes your data import, and takes about six weeks. Customers give the experience 96% implementation satisfaction. Netchex also works directly with your benefits broker and CPA, so your HR lead isn’t carrying the whole transition alone.

Which One Fits Your Business

Choose Delta if: you’re a smaller Gulf Coast employer, often in construction or industrial work, that wants to hand HR, benefits, safety, and workers’ comp to one local firm, and you’re comfortable with a co-employer filing your payroll taxes under its name.

Choose Netchex if: you want your own team running payroll and HR, your employees working for you alone, and costs that don’t rise with a co-employment fee every time you hire. It’s built for hourly, multi-location businesses with lean HR teams, in Louisiana and beyond.
