For Payroll & Finance

Payroll software for finance teams that closes clean.

Payroll software for finance teams should end with a journal entry nobody retypes. Netchex runs payroll on one screen, maps it to your chart of accounts, and keeps hours, pay rates and entities in one system. You spend the period closing the books instead of fixing them.

Where it breaks

The month-end work payroll creates

Finance teams don’t need another dashboard. They need payroll that arrives at the ledger correct. Here’s where the work usually piles up.

Journal entries retyped by hand

Payroll runs, then someone rebuilds the entry in the accounting system or a spreadsheet by department. It takes an hour, and one transposed digit throws off the month.

Pay rates and overtime math

One employee, three jobs, two rates and a holiday. Getting overtime right takes a spreadsheet and a lot of care.

Entities and EINs

Shared employees, location transfers and carve-outs mean duplicate records, extra W-2s and re-onboarding.

Payroll that runs on one person

If your payroll lead is out for two weeks, who runs it? Too often the honest answer is nobody.

Tax notices and the year-end scramble

A misfiled return or a missed cutoff turns into notices, penalties and a December you’d rather forget.

Close the period once, not twice

Fewer touches, fewer corrections, and a ledger entry that matches the run.

How it works

Payroll software for finance teams, built around the close

Three places where the hours disappear, and what changes in each.

Run payroll

Run payroll from one screen, in about 15 minutes.

OneScreen Payroll puts hours, pay, deductions and approvals in one view. Most teams save two to four hours a week on payroll tasks and corrections, and approval steps catch an error before the money leaves.

  • Review and fix exceptions without leaving the run
  • Approval steps before funds move
  • Import time and payroll data from other systems

General ledger

Post payroll to your books without re-keying it.

General Ledger Reporting maps payroll to your chart of accounts, and multidimensional mapping splits costs by department or project. A pre-payroll report shows projected salary expense by cost center before you commit to the run.

Entities and rates

Handle more than one company, rate or backup.

Manage employees across locations, departments and separate companies from one account. Pay rates and department-based holiday pay come from the punch data. Because the run happens on one screen, it’s usually easier for a backup to step in when the first person is out.

  • Locations, departments and separate companies in one account
  • Multiple pay rates and department-based holiday pay
  • Retirement contributions to providers such as Vestwell and Transamerica

Questions

Questions payroll and finance teams ask

Can Netchex post payroll to my accounting system without re-keying?
Yes. General Ledger Reporting maps payroll data to your chart of accounts, and multidimensional mapping splits costs by department, project or both. Netchex also integrates with QuickBooks. The result is reconciliation-ready output instead of a journal entry someone rebuilds by hand each period.
How does payroll handle multiple pay rates and overtime in one week?
Pay rates and department-based holiday pay come from the punch data, so an employee who works several jobs in one week is paid at the right rate for each. Overtime is calculated from the same timecard, and you can review exceptions before the run, not after it.
Who files our payroll taxes?
You and Netchex share the work. Owners and admins complete state agency applications, and Netchex files and pays once your accounts are set up, using third-party administrator access where an agency requires it. Our payroll tax filing guide spells out exactly who handles what.
What happens to payroll if our payroll lead is out?
OneScreen Payroll puts the whole run on one screen, which usually makes it easier for a backup to step in than a process spread across several. You can give a second person access, and our US-based service team is a call away if the backup gets stuck.
How long does switching payroll providers take?
Implementation is free and project-managed, with a dedicated Implementation Manager and free data import. Most teams are live in about six weeks. We help you bring your history over, so your records come with you instead of starting from a blank page.
Can one employee work across more than one company or EIN?
Netchex can manage employees across multiple locations, departments and separate companies from one account. For shared employees and transfers, ask us to walk through your exact setup in a demo, because multi-entity rules vary by state and by how your companies are structured.
