Picture a family manufacturing shop in Waukesha County running a second shift three nights a week. Payroll has to land on time whether it’s a holiday week or not, and when a W-2 question comes up in February, someone wants a real person who already knows the account. That’s the kind of client Integrated Payroll Services has built its business around in Delafield, Wisconsin. So if you’re weighing Netchex vs. Integrated Payroll Services, it helps to know what’s actually running underneath each one.
A quick name check first. This guide covers Integrated Payroll Services, Inc. of Delafield, WI, also known as IPS Payroll. A different company with a similar name, once based in St. Louis, merged into Inova Payroll back in 2022. That’s a separate business with a separate platform, not the one covered here.
The core difference is simple, even if the marketing on both sides sounds similar. IPS delivers its payroll and HR on isolved, software another company builds. Netchex builds its own platform and staffs its own support team behind it.
Last updated: September 2026. Integrated Payroll Services information comes from the company’s own website, its Better Business Bureau profile, and public listings. Netchex figures come from G2 and Netchex’s own customer data.
The Short Version
IPS is family owned and independent, with two licensed CPAs on staff, according to public listings. Its own site describes founding by a small team that wanted a more personal alternative to the big national payroll names, and the Better Business Bureau lists the company as established in November 2010 with an A+ rating (though the profile also notes IPS isn’t BBB accredited, which is a separate thing from the letter grade). The homepage leans on that local relationship hard: “People you can trust. Technology you can count on.”
Netchex was founded in Louisiana more than 20 years ago for the businesses that keep America running: restaurants, hotels, dealerships, clinics. It’s one company from the code to the phone line. The US-based, FPC-certified support team answers 90% of calls in under a minute, customers rate that service 4.8 out of 5, and Netchex holds an 8.9/10 Quality of Support score on G2.

Netchex vs. Integrated Payroll Services on Payroll and Time
IPS lists payroll services, benefit administration, time and attendance, HR, and talent acquisition on its site. Its payroll page mentions tax filing, garnishments, PTO accrual tracking, workers’ comp premium calculations, general ledger integration, and a mobile app, all delivered through the iSolved platform. For a lot of small Wisconsin employers, that covers what they actually need day to day.
What IPS can’t change is the product itself. It configures and services isolved, but isolved decides what the software does and when it changes.
Netchex writes its own payroll engine and its own time and attendance module, and Scheduler sits in the same system. When a second-shift supervisor approves overtime on a Thursday night, those hours flow straight into payroll without crossing from one vendor’s product into another. OneScreen Payroll pulls onboarding, overtime, benefits and taxes into one readiness view. Most teams wrap a run in under 15 minutes.
| Feature | Netchex | Integrated Payroll Services |
| Payroll and tax filing | ✅ Built by Netchex | ✅ Delivered on isolved |
| Time and attendance | ✅ Native, with Scheduler | ✅ Listed on its site, on isolved |
| Platform built by the provider | ✅ | ✗ isolved builds it |
HR, Benefits and Compliance
IPS’s site lists benefit administration and HR services alongside its payroll work, plus talent acquisition support. As an isolved partner, those tools come from isolved’s own HCM suite.
Netchex keeps all of it on one employee record. With its in-house benefits solution, enrollment, ACA tracking, onboarding and hiring through Netchex Recruit share the same data, so a new hire’s details get entered once, not three times. ACA Central tracks hours and coverage offers across full-time, part-time and seasonal staff, which matters when headcount shifts with the season. Netchex files Forms 1094-C and 1095-C, too. (The IRS reporting rules for applicable large employers spell out what’s required.)
Less re-keying. Fewer surprises at year end.
| Feature | Netchex | Integrated Payroll Services |
| Benefits | ✅ In-house benefits solution | ✅ Benefit administration listed on its site |
| HR and hiring | ✅ Onboarding and Netchex Recruit on one record | ✅ HR and talent acquisition listed, on isolved |
Service and Support
Service is the whole pitch on IPS’s homepage, and its own customers back it up. “I call IPS and they answer the phone…IPS is amazing. I have so much more peace of mind,” says Ken S., a business owner, on the company’s site. Another client, Chad R., puts it this way: “They know me by name and are always in tune with my payroll needs.” Those aren’t small things for an owner who’s tired of ticket numbers.
The structural question is the same one every isolved partner faces, though. isolved says employers who buy through a partner firm “receive support directly from that service provider”. Most days that means IPS’s own team. But when a problem lives inside the software itself, it still has to travel from IPS to isolved and back.
Netchex skips that relay. The people who answer the phone work for the company that wrote the code. Ninety percent of calls are picked up in under a minute with first-call resolution, and every customer has a dedicated Account Manager.
Netchex has the best support of any service provider I’ve ever worked with. There aren’t any hoops to jump through with Netchex support.

Implementation and Switching
Nobody looks forward to switching payroll providers. What you actually want to know is how much of that work lands on your desk.
Netchex implementation is free and project-managed, usually wrapping up in about six weeks, with free data imports and a 96% implementation satisfaction score. One team owns it from the first data pull to the first live payroll.
IPS doesn’t publish an implementation timeline on its site. If you’re comparing the two, ask IPS for one in writing, and ask which steps its team handles directly versus which ones depend on isolved.
Who Each Is Built For
Integrated Payroll Services may fit if: you’re a smaller Southeastern Wisconsin employer, you want a family-owned firm with CPAs on staff, and you’re comfortable with isolved as the software running underneath.
Netchex may fit if: you run multi-shift or multi-location teams, you want one company accountable for both the platform and the support, and you’d like time, scheduling and payroll working together in a single system. Frequently Asked Questions
No. This guide covers Integrated Payroll Services, Inc. of Delafield, Wisconsin, also called IPS Payroll, which runs on isolved. A different, similarly named St. Louis company merged into Inova Payroll in January 2022. Netchex is different from both: it builds its own payroll, time, HR and benefits platform and runs its own support team in-house.
IPS runs its payroll, time and attendance, and HR services on isolved, logging clients in through ips.myisolved.com. So isolved builds the underlying software, and IPS sells, configures and supports it locally out of Delafield. Netchex builds its own platform instead of reselling one, so the software and the service come from a single company.
isolved’s own support page says employers who buy through a partner firm get support directly from that partner, not from isolved itself. That puts the local firm between you and the company that built the software. With Netchex, the company that builds the platform also answers the phone, and 90% of calls are answered in under a minute.
Netchex implementation is free and project-managed and usually takes about six weeks, including free data imports. Customers give the process a 96% implementation satisfaction score. A dedicated team handles setup from the first data pull through the first live payroll, so the switch doesn’t fall on one office manager alone.
