Your nonprofit is headquartered in Hauppauge, New York, and last year you opened a second office near Wellington, Florida to reach donors down south. Now you’ve got two office managers, two time zones, and one payroll vendor you’re hoping can keep it all straight without a headache every pay period. If you’re weighing Netchex vs. Payroll Dynamics, the first thing to understand is what’s actually running underneath each option.
Payroll Dynamics has been a fixture on Long Island since 2004, according to its own About page. It isn’t a software company, though. It’s a bureau that sells and services someone else’s HCM platform.
Netchex takes a different approach entirely. It builds and owns its own payroll, time, HR and benefits platform, and one company handles the software and the support behind it.
Last updated: September 2026. Payroll Dynamics information comes from the company’s own website and BBB listing. Netchex figures come from G2 and Netchex’s own customer data.
The Short Version
Payroll Dynamics, Inc. runs out of Hauppauge, with a second office in Wellington, Florida, and its About page says the company has served clients since 2004. Its platform is called FUSIONhcm, and the About page is upfront about where it comes from: “we have partnered with UKG to bring you FUSIONhcm.” That’s the same underlying software family behind the Kronos time clocks a lot of older Long Island offices still remember. The Better Business Bureau gives Payroll Dynamics an A+ rating with zero complaints closed in the last three years, which says something good about how the firm handles the relationships it already has.
Netchex was founded in Louisiana more than 20 years ago for the businesses that keep America running, like restaurants, hotels, dealerships and clinics. It’s one company from the code to the phone line. The US-based, FPC-certified support team answers 90% of calls in under a minute, customers rate that service 4.8 out of 5, and Netchex holds an 8.9/10 Quality of Support score on G2.

| Support model | One company for software and service | Local Long Island and South Florida team, on UKG’s platform |
Netchex vs. Payroll Dynamics on Payroll and Time
FUSIONhcm covers a lot of ground on paper. Payroll Dynamics’ own product page lists an integrated payroll engine, tax filing and garnishment processing, time management, accrual tracking, attestation, leave manager and scheduling, plus a Fusion Small Business edition for smaller headcounts. It even offers a standalone automation product called FusionRPA. That’s a real, specific strength, not a vague one.
What Payroll Dynamics can’t do is change the engine underneath. It configures and services UKG Ready, but UKG decides what the software does and when it changes.
Netchex writes its own payroll engine and its own time and attendance module, with Scheduler built into the same system. When a shift runs long, the hours and overtime flow straight into payroll instead of crossing between one company’s front end and another company’s back end. OneScreen Payroll pulls onboarding, overtime, benefits and taxes into one readiness view, and most teams finish a run in under 15 minutes.
| Feature | Netchex | Payroll Dynamics |
| Payroll and tax filing | ✅ Built by Netchex | ✅ Delivered on UKG Ready |
| Time and attendance | ✅ Native, with Scheduler | ✅ UKG Ready time and attestation |
| Platform built by the provider | ✅ | ✗ UKG builds it |
HR, Benefits and Compliance
Payroll Dynamics’ FusionHCM page lists HR, performance management, people analytics, talent acquisition and compensation management, all running on UKG’s platform. The company also lists benefits administration and sexual harassment training as separate services on its site, which is a nice touch for clients who’d rather have one vendor handle both.
Netchex keeps all of it on one employee record. With its in-house benefits solution, enrollment, ACA tracking, onboarding and hiring through Netchex Recruit share the same data, so a new hire’s details get entered once instead of three times across three modules. ACA Central tracks hours and coverage offers across full-time, part-time and seasonal staff, and Netchex files Forms 1094-C and 1095-C directly. (The IRS reporting rules for applicable large employers spell out what’s required.)
Fewer systems talking to each other means fewer places for a number to go wrong.
| Feature | Netchex | Payroll Dynamics |
| Benefits | ✅ In-house benefits solution | ✅ Benefits administration listed on its site |
| HR tools | ✅ Onboarding and Netchex Recruit on one record | ✅ HR and performance management, on UKG Ready |
Service and Support
Payroll Dynamics doesn’t publish customer testimonials on its site, so there’s no quote to hold up here, and that’s a fair gap to flag rather than paper over. What is on record is the BBB profile: an A+ rating and zero complaints closed against the company in the last three years. For a Long Island firm that’s been doing this since 2004, that’s a genuinely clean track record.
The structural question is the one every UKG Ready reseller runs into eventually. Payroll Dynamics is the local face of the relationship, but the software itself, and any bug or update inside it, belongs to UKG. When an issue lives in the platform rather than in Payroll Dynamics’ own service, it has to travel from the local office to UKG and back.
Netchex skips that relay. The people who answer the phone work for the company that wrote the code. Ninety percent of calls are picked up in under a minute with first-call resolution, and every customer gets a dedicated Account Manager.
Netchex has the best support of any service provider I’ve ever worked with. There aren’t any hoops to jump through with Netchex support.

Implementation and Switching
Nobody looks forward to a payroll switch. What actually matters is how much of the work lands on your desk.
Netchex implementation is free and project-managed, usually wrapping up in about six weeks, with free data imports and a 96% implementation satisfaction score. One team owns it from the first data pull through the first live payroll.
Payroll Dynamics doesn’t post an implementation timeline anywhere on its site. If you’re comparing the two, ask for one in writing, and ask specifically which steps its local team handles versus which ones depend on UKG.
Who Each Is Built For
Payroll Dynamics may fit if: you’re an accounting firm, nonprofit or professional-services employer in the Long Island or South Florida area, you value a clean BBB record and a local point of contact, and you’re comfortable with UKG Ready as the software running things behind the scenes.
Netchex may fit if: you run hourly or multi-location teams, you want one company accountable for both the platform and the people answering the phone, and you’d like time, scheduling and payroll in a single system no matter how many states you operate in. Note that Netchex doesn’t offer global payroll, so a client with staff outside the US should factor that in. Frequently Asked Questions
Payroll Dynamics runs its FUSIONhcm platform on UKG Ready. Its own About page says the company “partnered with UKG to bring you FUSIONhcm,” and its login and mobile app both point to UKG’s systems. Netchex builds its own platform instead of reselling one, so the same company writes the code and answers the support line.
Payroll Dynamics holds an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau with zero complaints closed in the last three years, which is a strong service record. It doesn’t have a G2 or Capterra profile, so there isn’t independent review data to compare against Netchex’s 4.5/5 G2 rating.
Payroll Dynamics is based in Hauppauge, New York, on Long Island, with a second office near Wellington, Florida. It has served clients since 2004, per its own About page. Netchex operates nationwide from its Louisiana headquarters and supports multi-location, multi-EIN businesses under a single login.
Netchex implementation is free, project-managed and usually takes about six weeks, including free data imports. Customers give the process a 96% implementation satisfaction score. A dedicated team handles setup from the first data pull through the first live payroll, so the transition doesn’t fall entirely on one office manager.
