Netchex FAQ’s
A W-2 form is a critical document used in the U.S. tax system to report an employee’s annual wages and the taxes withheld from their paychecks. Employees receive this form at the end of each tax year to complete their tax returns.
The W-2 form includes:
- Employee Information: Name, address, and Social Security number
- Employer Information: Name, address, and Employer Identification Number (EIN)
- Wages and Tips: Total taxable income, including wages, bonuses, and tips
- Tax Withholdings: Federal income tax, Social Security tax, and Medicare tax withheld
Employers are required to distribute W-2 forms to employees by January 31 each year for the previous tax year.
