Your landscaping crew doubles in April when the mulch orders start rolling in, and by Labor Day you’re letting six part timers go until next spring. A few miles away, a small counseling practice in Hatboro just wants payroll for four therapists to run itself so nobody has to think about it twice. Both kinds of owners show up on Accupay Payroll’s client list, and if you’re weighing Netchex vs. Accupay Payroll, it helps to know what’s actually running underneath each one.
One name check first. This guide covers Accupay Payroll, Inc. of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, outside Philadelphia. There’s a separate company, AccuPay, Inc. of Greenwood, Indiana, that runs on isolved. Different business, different platform, confusingly similar name. This is about the Hatboro firm.
The core difference is simple. Accupay Payroll delivers its service on ReadyPay Online, a platform built by ProLiant. Netchex builds its own platform and answers its own phones.
Last updated: September 2026. Accupay Payroll information comes from the company’s own website and public listings. Netchex figures come from G2 and Netchex’s own customer data.
The Short Version
Accupay Payroll’s About page says it has served clients “since 1969,” which makes it one of the longer-running bureaus in the Delaware Valley. It’s based on South Penn Street in Hatboro, displays an SSAE certification badge, and its Alignable profile carries a “Highly Recommended” tag from six local business owners. That’s a real, earned local reputation.
Netchex was founded in Louisiana more than 20 years ago for the businesses that keep America running: restaurants, hotels, dealerships, clinics. It’s one company from the code to the phone line. The US-based, FPC-certified support team answers 90% of calls in under a minute, customers rate that service 4.8 out of 5, and Netchex holds an 8.9/10 Quality of Support score on G2.

Netchex vs. Accupay Payroll on Payroll and Time
Accupay’s site lists payroll, tax, HR services, 401(k) administration, cafeteria plans, employment screening, workers’ comp, and time and attendance. On paper, that covers most of what a small employer needs.
Look closer and it’s three separate systems wearing one name. Payroll and core HR run on ProLiant’s ReadyPay Online. Time and attendance runs on a different product called TimeWorks. Employment screening runs through National Crime Search, another outside vendor. Each one gets its own login.
That matters more than it sounds like it should. When systems don’t share one database, something eventually gets re-keyed, or worse, missed.
Netchex writes its own payroll engine and its own time and attendance module, and Scheduler sits in the same system. When a Saturday shift runs long, the hours and overtime flow straight into payroll without crossing from one vendor’s product into another. OneScreen Payroll pulls onboarding, overtime, benefits and taxes into one readiness view. Most teams wrap a run in under 15 minutes.

HR, Benefits and Compliance
Accupay’s own site lists HR services, 401(k) administration, and cafeteria plan administration among what it offers. Those pieces are handled by outside specialists Accupay coordinates with, on top of the ReadyPay Online core.
Netchex keeps all of it on one employee record. With its in-house benefits solution, enrollment, ACA tracking, onboarding and hiring through Netchex Recruit share the same data, so a new landscaper’s details get entered once, not three times. ACA Central tracks hours and coverage offers across full-time, part-time and seasonal staff, which matters when your headcount swings with the season. Netchex files Forms 1094-C and 1095-C, too. (The IRS reporting rules for applicable large employers spell out what’s required.)
Less re-keying. Fewer surprises in January.
| Feature | Netchex | Accupay Payroll |
| Benefits | ✅ In-house benefits solution | ✅ Cafeteria plan administration listed on its site |
| HR tools | ✅ Onboarding and Netchex Recruit on one record | ✅ HR services listed, coordinated separately |
Service and Support
Accupay’s real edge is local reputation. On Alignable, a small-business referral network, its page carries a “Highly Recommended” tag and six recommendations.
AccuPay provides reliable, responsible and accurate service… Highly recommend this service!
– Kim Jetter, Jetter & Associates Counseling, LLC
What that page can’t tell you is how Accupay handles a problem that lives inside ReadyPay Online itself, since ProLiant builds that software, not Accupay’s Hatboro office. No BBB profile turns up for the Hatboro address, and no G2 or Capterra listing exists for the bureau itself. The reviews that do exist online are for ProLiant’s platform, not for Accupay’s own service delivery.
Netchex skips that relay entirely. The people who answer the phone work for the company that wrote the code. Ninety percent of calls are picked up in under a minute with first-call resolution, and every customer has a dedicated Account Manager.
Netchex has the best support of any service provider I’ve ever worked with. There aren’t any hoops to jump through with Netchex support.

Implementation and Switching
Switching payroll mid-season is nobody’s idea of fun. What you really want to know is how much of it lands on your desk.
Netchex implementation is free and project-managed, usually wrapping up in about six weeks, with free data imports and a 96% implementation satisfaction score. One team owns it from the first data pull to the first live payroll.
Accupay doesn’t publish an implementation timeline on its site. If you’re comparing, ask for one in writing, and ask which steps its Hatboro team handles directly and which depend on ProLiant.
Who Each Is Built For
Accupay Payroll may fit if: you’re a smaller Delaware Valley employer, you value a local team with a strong referral reputation, and you’re comfortable with ReadyPay Online, TimeWorks and a screening vendor running as separate pieces.
Netchex may fit if: you run hourly or seasonal teams, you want one company accountable for the platform and the support, and you’d like time, scheduling and payroll in a single system rather than three logins.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Accupay Payroll, Inc. is based in Hatboro, Pennsylvania and runs on ProLiant’s ReadyPay Online. AccuPay, Inc. of Greenwood, Indiana is a separate company that runs on isolved. Netchex is different from both: it builds its own payroll, time, HR and benefits platform and runs its own support team, so there’s no third-party software underneath any of it.
Accupay Payroll runs its core payroll and HR on ReadyPay Online, a platform built by ProLiant. Time and attendance runs on a separate system, and employment screening runs through another outside vendor. Netchex builds its own platform instead of assembling several outside products, so payroll, time and HR share one database.
Accupay Payroll has a strong local reputation, with a “Highly Recommended” rating and six recommendations on the small-business network Alignable. Independent review data for the bureau’s own service is harder to find, since the G2 and Capterra listings that come up cover ProLiant’s platform, not Accupay. Netchex publishes its own numbers: 90% of calls answered in under a minute.
Netchex implementation is free and project-managed and usually takes about six weeks, including free data imports. Customers give the process a 96% implementation satisfaction score. A dedicated team handles setup from the first data pull through the first live payroll, so the switch doesn’t fall on one office manager alone.
