Industry-Savvy Support That Feels Personal

About Halladay Motors and Their Challenges

Halladay Motors is a busy, multi-location automotive dealership managing nearly 200 employees across sales, service, and support departments. Like most dealerships, their workforce includes a mix of flat-rate technicians, commissioned employees, and hourly staff. Each pay structure brings its own rules, calculations, and reporting requirements, and accuracy isn’t optional.

As Human Resources Manager, Terese Mims oversees the full employee lifecycle across departments and locations. Recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, training coordination, and workforce planning all fall under her responsibility. In a fast-paced dealership environment, inefficiencies surface quickly, and payroll mistakes are costly.

Before Netchex, Halladay Motors relied on more rigid payroll systems that made simple tasks unnecessarily complicated. Reporting was limited. Workflows didn’t reflect how dealerships actually operate. Support felt transactional rather than consultative.

A major catalyst for change came when the dealership transitioned its DMS to Dealertrack. That shift prompted a deeper evaluation of whether their payroll provider could truly integrate and support the operational complexity of an automotive dealership.

What Halladay Motors needed wasn’t just new software. They needed a platform designed for automotive payroll and HR, backed by people who understood the industry.

The Challenge

A Platform That Fits the Automotive Industry

From the start, Netchex stood out for one clear reason. It was built for dealerships.

Managing multiple locations and departments in a single system immediately changed how payroll and HR were handled. Flat-rate technicians, commissioned roles, and hourly employees could all be processed accurately without manual fixes or workarounds.

Payroll, along with time and attendance, delivered the biggest immediate impact. Instead of bending workflows to fit the software, the software fits the dealership.

Instead of exporting spreadsheets or cleaning up reports, Terese could finally pull what she needed directly from the system. And she could do so without exporting data or manipulating spreadsheets, giving her faster access to accurate insights.

Onboarding and forms streamlined hiring across locations, saving time for both HR and department managers while creating a more consistent experience for new hires.

The Solution

Smooth Implementation and a True Partnership

Despite the complexity of Halladay Motors’ workforce, implementation was a standout experience. The Netchex team took the time to understand departmental structures, pay plans, and workflows before going live. That preparation led to a transition that felt organized, efficient, and well supported.

After implementation, support remained consistent. During early adoption, Terese relied heavily on NetHelp and the knowledge center to learn the system. Questions were answered quickly, and communication was clear.

Over time, the relationship deepened. Halladay Motors’ account manager, Bryan Gilbert, became a trusted partner rather than a distant contact. His responsiveness, industry knowledge, and in-person visit reinforced that Netchex was invested in the dealership’s long-term success.

“Compared to larger payroll providers where you feel like just another ticket number, Netchex makes you feel like a valued partner. Their service team understands the nuances of our industry, and that builds a lot of trust.” — Terese Mims, Human Resources Manager, Halladay Motors

A Platform That Keeps Getting Better

Rather than remaining static, the Netchex platform has continued to evolve throughout the partnership. Over the past six months, especially, Halladay Motors has seen meaningful improvements in speed, usability, and functionality. New features have rolled out that directly reflect customer feedback, including enhancements that were once considered wish-list items.

These updates have integrated seamlessly into daily workflows without disruption, further simplifying payroll and HR operations.

“What I appreciate most is that Netchex listens to user feedback and continually enhances features we use every day. I’m watching new products roll out that were on my wish list. Updates I didn’t even know I needed.”  – Terese Mims, Human Resources Manager, Halladay Motors

Ongoing Partnership

Built for Dealerships, Backed by Real People

Today, Netchex is the foundation of Halladay Motors’ HR and payroll operations.

Payroll runs confidently across multiple locations and pay structures. Reporting supports smarter decisions without extra administrative work. Onboarding and forms reduce friction for HR and new hires alike. And when questions arise, real people who understand dealership operations are ready to help.

For Terese, the takeaway is clear: fit matters.

“My biggest advice is don’t underestimate the value of a system that truly fits the automotive industry. Netchex understands the complexities of dealerships. If you want a payroll and HR system that’s easy to learn, accurate, supported by real humans, and adaptable to the way dealerships operate, Netchex is absolutely worth the switch.”  – Terese Mims, Human Resources Manager, Halladay Motors
