Your dealership in South Jordan just added a second service bay, and three new techs start Monday. You need their hours, their withholding and their background checks handled before the first paycheck goes out, without logging into three different portals to do it. That’s the real question behind Netchex vs Payroll Perfect.
Short version: Payroll Perfect, Inc. is a Utah payroll bureau that’s been running since 1973, and it services its clients on a white-labeled version of another company’s software. Netchex builds its own payroll, time, HR and benefits platform and staffs the support team that answers when you call.
Last updated: September 2026. Payroll Perfect information comes from the company’s own website and public business listings. Netchex figures come from G2 and Netchex’s own customer data.
The Short Version
Payroll Perfect, Inc. is based in South Jordan, Utah, per BBB and public business listings (the company’s own homepage doesn’t list an address). It’s been in business since July 1973, which makes it one of the more established names in this space, even though its site’s footer still reads “Copyright 2016” and its About page returns a 404. Fifty-three years in operation is a real, verifiable number, and it says something about staying power that a dated-looking website doesn’t.
What the site doesn’t say plainly is which company built the software behind it. The client login is labeled “PlatinumPay Web,” hosted at a PlatinumPay Xpress subdomain. PlatinumPay Xpress is a payroll platform built by Execupay and licensed out, white-labeled, to a long list of independent bureaus across the country, so the software itself isn’t unique to Payroll Perfect.
Netchex went a different way. Founded in Louisiana more than 20 years ago for the businesses that keep America running, like restaurants, hotels, dealerships and clinics, Netchex owns the platform end to end. Its US-based, FPC-certified support team answers 90% of calls in under a minute, customers rate that service 4.8 out of 5, and Netchex holds an 8.9/10 Quality of Support score on G2.

Netchex vs. Payroll Perfect on Payroll and Time
Payroll Perfect’s homepage lists payroll processing, tax pay and file, employee portals, integrated timekeeping and workers’ comp reporting. The workers’ comp piece stands out. Its site pitches “simple WC premium management” with no or simplified annual WC audits, which is a real convenience for a business that dreads that paperwork every year.
The timekeeping runs through Swipeclock, a separate vendor with its own employer and employee logins. Payroll itself lives on the PlatinumPay Web portal. Onboarding routes through a third tool, MyFileGuardian. None of that is unusual for a small bureau, but it does mean three different companies’ software has to line up correctly before a paycheck goes out clean.
Netchex keeps time and attendance and Scheduler in the same system as payroll, so a fixed punch or a covered shift shows up in the pay run without an export. OneScreen Payroll pulls onboarding, overtime, benefits and taxes into one readiness view before you submit, and most teams finish a run in under 15 minutes.
| Feature | Netchex | Payroll Perfect |
| Payroll and tax filing | ✅ Built by Netchex | ✅ Processed on PlatinumPay Xpress |
| Time keeping | ✅ Native, with Scheduler | ✅ Offered through Swipeclock, a separate login |
| One login for payroll, time and onboarding | ✅ | ✗ Separate portals for payroll, time and file transfer |
HR, Benefits and Compliance
Payroll Perfect links out to an HR Support Portal, HR360, and runs background checks through National Crime Search. That’s a reasonable bundle for a business that just needs the basics covered without hiring an HR person yet.
We didn’t find benefits enrollment or ACA reporting tools listed among its services. For a Utah dealership or clinic adding staff through the summer and holiday rush, that’s usually the next thing that becomes a headache.
Netchex handles it in one place. With its in-house benefits solution, enrollment, ACA tracking, onboarding and Netchex Recruit all share one employee record, so a new hire’s details get entered once. ACA Central tracks hours and coverage offers across full-time, part-time and seasonal staff, and Netchex files Forms 1094-C and 1095-C. Watching your headcount cross 50 full-time equivalents? Start with the IRS reporting rules for applicable large employers.
Netchex also works directly with your CPA and your current benefits broker, so you don’t have to swap either one out.
Service and Support
Payroll Perfect’s clients seem to like the human side of a small bureau. On Yelp, one reviewer wrote: “Payroll Perfect provides efficient, professional and accurate payroll services for our company of 50+ employees. Mistakes are almost always on our end, yet Payroll Perfect is quick to make corrections and help us retain our hard won staff.” That’s one client’s account, but it’s a specific, credible one.
Third-party ratings are thinner. Birdeye, which aggregates reviews from sites like Yelp and Google, shows Payroll Perfect at 3.5 out of 5 from 10 reviews. BBB lists the company as not accredited and says it doesn’t have enough information on file to issue a rating either way, so there’s no BBB score to point to in either direction.
There’s also the software question. Payroll Perfect didn’t build PlatinumPay Xpress, Swipeclock or MyFileGuardian. When something goes sideways between those systems, its team has to work the fix through the vendor that actually owns the code.
At Netchex, the people who answer the phone work for the company that writes the code. Ninety percent of calls are answered in under a minute with first-call resolution, and every customer has a dedicated Account Manager.
Netchex has the best support of any service provider I’ve ever worked with. There aren’t any hoops to jump through with Netchex support.

Implementation and Switching
We didn’t find published pricing or a stated implementation timeline on Payroll Perfect’s site. If you’re getting a quote, ask what the Swipeclock and HR360 add-ons cost separately, and get the setup timeline in writing before you sign anything.
Netchex implementation is free and project-managed, with free data imports, and it usually takes about six weeks. Customers give the process a 96% implementation satisfaction score, with one team owning it from your first data pull to your first live payroll.
Who Each Is Built For
Payroll Perfect may fit if: you’re a smaller Utah business, you want a long-tenured local bureau handling the filing side for you, and you don’t mind logging into separate systems for payroll, time and onboarding.
Netchex may fit if: you run hourly or multi-location teams, you want payroll, time, HR and benefits from one company that also builds the platform, and you’d like several locations or EINs behind a single login. Comparing a bigger national name too? See our Netchex vs. Paychex comparison.
